The following divided local government areas were not reviewed in 2019 and their divisional boundaries therefore remain unchanged for the purposes of the 2020 Local Government Elections: Banana Shire Council, Bundaberg Regional Council, Cairns Regional Council, North Burnett Regional Council, Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council, Torres Strait Island Regional Council. These changes are considered by the Local Government Change Commission and the Commission's recommendations are published in a final determination report. For recommended changes to take effect, the Governor in Council may implement the changes by Regulation. The external boundaries of local government areas in this dataset were created from the October 14, 2019 edition of the Local Government Area boundaries.
